A direct direct placement is a service provided by a personnel service provider or a temporary employment agency. This service consists of the recruitment and placement of suitable employees for specific positions in a company. The applicant is then permanently employed and the service provided by the personnel service provider/temporary employment agency is completed.

This is where direct placement differs from temporary work/temporary employment.

The difference lies in the fact that the employee is permanently employed by the client company after a successful placement. In contrast, in the case of temporary employment or employee leasing, the employee is permanently employed by the personnel service provider and has changing, time-limited assignments with different client companies of the personnel service provider.

The maximum duration of temporary employment is set out in the Temporary Employment Act and states that temporary employees can be employed by the user employer for a maximum of 18 months within a 36-month period. If the user employer wants to keep the employee for longer, it can take them over into its internal structures.
